Until Mar 15: Moments of Being - Curated by Brenda McParland. A group exhibition exploring the diversity of approaches to painting by a selection of some of
the most interesting Irish artists working today. Includes figurative, abstract, experimental, open and
expanded painting practices by established, mid-career and emerging artists. Themes of personal narratives, observations of everyday life, the body, identity and place, the natural world, contemporary culture, history, politics, the real and the virtual, and the materiality and essence of painting. Several of the paintings are new and exhibited for the first time at Solstice Arts Centre. Artists: Laura Fox, Paul Hallahan, Elizabeth Magill, Colin Martin, Ciarraí MacCormac, Eleanor

required. Join Barbara Kneževic as she discusses her artistic practice and the themes informing the sculpture and film work in the exhibition that place largescale
sculpture and personal and family experiences against the backdrop of larger historical narratives of
the Danube and the Balkans. A series of sculptural objects and a single-channel film that interprets the history, stories, materiality, and the development of technology in the Iron Gates (Gvozdena kapije) region,
a deep scenic gorge at Derdap on the Dunav (Danube) River on the border of Serbia and Romania.
It is also the name of the nearby Iron Gate I Hydroelectric dam completed in 1972 as a collaborative project between the governments of the former
Yugoslavia and Romania. The exhibition tours to three
other Irish venues: Sirius Arts Centre, Regional Cultural
Centre, and Wexford Art Centre with the support of the Arts Council of Ireland Touring Award.
